Solidarity Forever

Press release:

The CD SOLIDARITY FOREVER has proved its worth since it was released in summer 2012. In September 2013 the first 4,000 is sold, and now the total production is 5,300 pcs. In addition, the download and streamed to a large extent, in particular on Spotify and WiMP.

“The 13 songs are as relevant in England and South Africa as they are in Scandinavia. Songs about solidarity and cooperation are of international interest and therefore we trust that the CD will be well received in many countries”, says Janne Laerkedahl.

“We know of many places where people are opposed to this genre, but we intend to break down that barrier. The truth about these songs is that they contain opinions and views on life together with optimism and joy. Furthermore, world class artists have written many of the songs.”

Among the traditional songs are the classics “Joe Hill”, “We Shall Overcome” and ”Solidarity Forever”. South America is represented by “Gracias a la Vida”, and “Solo Le Pida a Dios”. South Africa is represented by the homage to Nelson Mandela: “Free Nelson Mandela”.

Other contributions to the CD are John Lennon's “Working Class Hero” and “Imagine”, Tracy Chapman's “Talk About a Revolution” and Buffy Sainte-Marie's “Universal Soldier” (a succes with Donovan).
